Vent Checklist

Fresh Air Intake

Fresh air intakes, for the provision of combustion air heating appliances, are not necessary for electric furnaces. These are normally installed near an older natural gas furnace or hot water heater to ensure adequate air for combustion. Since electric furnace is heat using a series of electric elements, with no combustion of gases, no fresh air intake is required.

Gas Furnace / Gas Water Heater

Furnace
Water Heater
Sometimes the gas furnace/gas water heater no longer works or has been removed or replaced with alternative heating solutions in which the gas vent may no longer be needed.

Fireplace / Wood Burning Stove

Bathroom Exhaust Fan Vents

If you have bathroom exhaust fan vents, they may no longer work, or you may never use them and wish to eliminate the roof vent and have them vent into the attic.

Range Hood Exhaust Fan Vent

Your range hood exhaust fan vent may have quit working and may have been (or will be) replaced with a VENTLESS in which you may want to eliminate the roof vent.
